The Rabbit Hole Designs March Release

Wow, it’s a busy day today! The Rabbit Hole Designs has a new release chalk full of fun and I get to share it with you!!! There is a brand new Easter set and three new caffeinated critters to add to the collection. Over the past few days, you’ve probably seen several cards I made using these new sets. The good news is that they officially become available today and we’re celebrating with a blog hop! In case you missed any of the cards I made here’s a quick recap…

For my Carrot Card, I used stamps from Easter Bounty. This set has some of the cutest little bunnies in it and you know me; as a bunny mom, I adore all rabbit related images. I used those for an upcoming project, but first I wanted to share this bright and cheerful carrot card. I really love the way the orange pops off the blue background. You can see in the video above how quickly this card comes together. It would be so easy to make a batch of them if you want to send out some Easter cards this year! To send this card off in style, I made my own envelope with a punch board and this handy punch board calculator (thanks Carole!).

As I mentioned, there are three new caffeinated critters joining the lineup too and they are fantastic! When these guys arrived, I immediately had to stamp, color, and cut them out with my ScanNCut so I could play with them! I can’t decide which card I like best…
The Caffeinated Flamingo is definitely a strong contender. She is so cute in pink and just look at all that sparkle and shine! I layered her on top of a stack of die cuts, including a corrugated cup sleeve made from pattern paper. All of that on a shaped card base that I made from a cut file. This card was so fast and easy to put together and I love the colors. I plan to make a whole set of shaped cards like this, each with a different caffeinated character. Wouldn’t that make a great gift?!

Now my Caffeinated Bee is definitely in the running too! I built a scene with die cut flowers onto a larger hexagon and I even stenciled in some white sunrays. I made sure to a lay my flower pieces out on the back of a mouse pad and added shape to them with a large ball-tip stylus before gluing them together. It really adds dimension! The sentiment and caffeine molecule were embossed on smaller hexagons to carry the honeycomb theme through, but my favorite part is the bee that I popped up on an Action Wobbler!!! He’s the perfect character for one, all jittery and flighty. 😉

My third contestant is the Caffeinated Crab. Isn’t he cute? I built an aquarium card for him to enjoy his donut and java in. It was actually very simple to do. I cut my card base and a clear sheet of acetate to 4 ¼” x 11″ and folded them both in half. I took the acetate and folded the two sides back in half, in the other direction, basically forming an M shape. Before I adhered the sides of the acetate to the card base, I built my scene, complete with a large die cut donut! He would want one to crawl around on in his aquarium, right? After the scene was complete (it is glued/foam taped to the back of the card base), I taped down the acetate sides to the outer edges of the card base and then covered them with wood grain cardstock. I even added a pocket on the left side to hold a gift card since this is a birthday card. Now to really make this look like an aquarium, I added black strips to the top and bottom of the acetate and the top of the card base, above the scene. I don’t think it would have worked as well without them.

So what do you think? Which is your favorite coffee card? Or does the Easter card trump them all? The four new stamp sets are available for purchase right now in the shop! Head over and add them to your cart before they sell out, and tell them I sent you! Just to sweeten the pot during the release celebration, they are offering:
