Hello crafty friend! It’s a new year and that means it’s time for some new stamps! Lucky for you, it’s release day at Heartcraft Paper, and the new digi-stamps are just too cute to pass up! To celebrate the release, the design team has a fun blog hop and Monica is issuing a challenge. Three winners will receive prize packs, so be sure to enter! On my card today, I’m showing off Aquapura Fae. She’s the new mermaid fairy and I’m smitten. Isn’t she pretty? I started by printing her out onto cardstock and coloring her in with Copic markers. I chose a coral color scheme in honor of Pantone’s new color of the year, living coral.
After coloring, I cut out my mermaid and her fishy pal with my ScanNCut. Then I outlined the edges with a black Sharpie to give them a nice defined look.
I die cut an anchor from some silver shimmer paper and added a strip of wired mesh ribbon to the top to mimic a chain. Then I adhered the mermaid to the anchor with foam tape and added another layer of foam tape behind the anchor and to the fish.
I stenciled fishscales onto the upper right side of a 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of white cardstock with a little Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink. Then I used an alphabet set to stamp out my sentiment, “hooked on you” on the lower left side with black ink.
To assemble my card, I popped the foam backed images onto my background, folded the silver ribbon over the top and taped it to the back. Then I used PVA glue to adhere a thin piece of fun foam to the back and a little more PVA to glue that onto a white A2 card base.
I finished with some scattered clear sequins, Stickles on her crown, and Wink of Stella on her tail and wings. What do you think? Pretty, right? I love her!
