The new Ribbon Rosette Crafty die set from i-crafter is AWESOME!!! It’s perfect for creating cards for all of our crafty friends. It’s designed as an add-on set for the Ribbon Rosettes, but I decided to layer it up for a different look. (Look Ma, I finally made an A2 card again!)
Isn’t it fun? If Mary Engelbreit ever opened a tattoo shop, I imagine she’d have flash like this. The bright colors and whimsical florals make the unexpected sassy sentiment even funnier.
In addition to the Crafty Add-on die set, there is also a new Funny Add-on set. Mix and match with the original Ribbon Rosettes for some of the coolest prize ribbons ever! Or you can use them separately like I did.
To create this card, I cut a light green circle and a white zigzag circle with dies in the Ribbon Rosettes set, dropping in the sentiment DIY OR DIE to the center of the light green circle. Those are stacked on a medium green Dashed Circle, with thin foam tape between each layer. After cutting a circle from black and white polka dot paper, I attached the panel and sentiment stack to a yellow card base with more thin foam tape. To decorate, I die cut floral sprigs from the Dashed Circle Flip Card set, colored the pieces with Copic markers, and inlaid them, before popping them up. The dark grey outline was a little muddled against the polka dots, so I cut a circle frame from white cardstock and tucked it around the opening.Β For a little sparkle, I brushed a shimmer pen over the frame, and exposed areas of the white zigzag layer. Scattered iridescent gems finish the card.
I love this card, and I can’t wait to send it off to a crafty friend, because crafty friends are the best, right? I want to make a masculine version for my husband too. We are remodeling the garage/craft room, and he is doing most of the work himself. (I suggested hiring pros, but he is a DIYer.) So far it looks great. I’ve been posting updates in my Instagram stories; I’ll share a craft room video tour when it’s complete.
