First up, check out the new interactive card set! I used the Pop Up Wiper Insert to make a fun thank you card. It has the same type of mechanism as the Heart Hand Wiper set I showed you last month, but this one has a larger platform and a die that will allow you the option to cut tabs to hold a gift card too. Instead to using both arms, I offset the platform and only used one arm.

Thanks Pop Up Wiper Card, with Floral Garden and Love Bugs dies from i-crafter Inside Thanks Pop Up Wiper Card with Dies from i-crafter

I decorated the card with Love Bugs and Floral Garden dies, in addition to the THANKS and banner dies included with the wiper insert. You can cut the pieces from colored cardstock or pattern paper, but I like coloring my die cuts. I simply cut them all out of a sheet of watercolor paper and colored them with real brush markers and a water brush pen. The dies impress details that pop when color settles into the grooves. Whenever I color pieces that have already been cut out, I use Purple Tape to hold them from the back. It’s nice to take coloring projects like this to the couch, where I can snuggle up under a blanket and binge watch Netflix, or on the go to meetups with crafty friends and only need to take a clipboard and pens.

Love Bug Valentines with i-crafter Love Bug Valentines with i-crafter 2

With the rest of my colored Love Bugs, I made a few valentines for my kids and nieces. I have always called them all love bugs, so I know they’ll get a kick out of these. You can adapt this to fit any small candy bar. Just wrap a strip of pattern paper around your bar and add a die cut sentiment, along with a love bug, and a few sequins. I chose the word Love from the Heart Hand Wiper set. Depending on the size of your chocolate bar, you might want a bigger or smaller sentiment. (If you’re wondering what bars I’ve got wrapped up, they are my favorite Firecracker bars from Chuao – yum!)

Animalopes from i-crafter 2 Animalopes from i-crafter

Let’s take a quick look at the new Animalopes set. One die set will create a bunch of different animal faces for these adorable envelopes! I made a red envelope for the Year of the Rat, along with an orange cat, and an Easter chick. On the i-crafter site, you’ll see samples showing how the same set can also make a bunny, fox, unicorn, and reindeer. (You’ll definitely want to see what the rest of the team made with this set too!!!) I plan to use this set year-round for quick and easy gift card holders. What other animals would you create?

Cherry Blossom Bursts from i-crafter Cherry Blossom Burst from i-crafter 2

I’ve saved my favorite new die set for last! The Cherry Blossom Bursts are so cool! I’ve never seen another die that does this. The flowers you see on the card above are all one piece! If you look closely, you can see that the narrow outside edge is glued to the card, and the inner petals and stamens pop up, but are all connected. To get this effect, simply lay your die cut on a foam pad (or back of a mouse pad) and use a large ball stylus to curl up the centers (rub in little circles). It’s so fast! If you want to add some color and shimmer like I did, just use a small round makeup brush to ink blend the centers. Then brush on a little Aqua Shimmer. I picked a bold color scheme with a pop of neon for my card, but soft pastels would be lovely too. And remember, you can cut your flowers from any color paper you want.

Alright, are you ready to see what the rest of the team made with these awesome new dies? Hop along and have a peek!
