Sweet Squirrel

It’s time for the new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs and this one is full of sweet and sassy Valentine themed stamps, sentiments, and even a pair of new stencils! I think you’re gonna love it! Today, I’m showing off a fun card featuring the More Than Donuts Stamp Set and Square Illusion Stencil.

Isn’t this little hipster squirrel adorable? I stamped, embossed, and Copic colored him. Then, I cut him out with my ScanNCut, leaving a narrow border. I added a layer of Diamond Glaze to his glasses, and added white dots to the donut with a stylus and Copic White. While that was drying, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a pink fishtail banner die, then I backed it with another black banner to add a pop of black.

To add texture to the background, I used the Square Illusion Stencil to dry emboss a sparkly white panel. (Be on the lookout for this new paper coming soon to The Rabbit Hole Designs’ shop; it’s awesome and takes Copics like a dream!) It’s much easier to dry emboss with a squishy pad and my Big Shot than the old fashion way. (Be sure to use the correct sandwich for the die cutting machine you have.)

I glued the embossed panel to an A2 stitched rectangle cut from kraft cardstock, then popped the squirrel and sentiments on with foam tape. A few flat-backed gems added a little more black and sparkle to the card. Now even though the More Than Donuts Stamp Set is technically in the Valentine category, I think you can get a lot more use out of it. I’m using this card as a thank you. Be sure to check it out and see what you think!
