Hi crafty friends! Itβs Sara here, maybe you know me as @le_cosebelle_di_sara on Instagram. I live in Italy and I am a teacher in a secondary school. Since I was a child I have always been interested in coloring and creating; when I was at University I discovered the magical βworldβ of stamping and cardmaking and it was love at first sight. Iβve been designing for a few companies and today I am totally thrilled to be here for a guesting spot for Pear Blossom Press. I must say that I was a bit afraid when I was asked to use lights to create a project, but I can totally say it was the easiest and the funniest thing ever! So, letβs move into my project.
I firstly decided the scene I wanted to create and I started from the recent released βTofu Hugsβ stamp from Purple Onion Designs. I thought it would have been fun to pair the Twinkle Lights, which is a group of three flashing lights, to light up three different speech bubbles.
I firstly stamped the image on a piece of A2 Neenah Solar White cardstock and I masked it with Judikins Masking Paper. I then ink blended the background using Lawn Fawn Inks (Deep Sea, Juice Box and Grape Soda) and I splattered some Paper Splatter in White Snowflake from Picket Fence. I then positioned the three βLove Speech Bubblesβ from MFT and I die cut them. I also white heat embossed the sentiment (which is included in the Friendly Warm Wishes Sentiment Set from Purple Onion too) and die cut the word HUGS with the old βTwice the Hugsβ from MFT. And now I was ready to use the Twinkle Lights.
I took a larger piece (about 6×4.75β) of white cardstock and I drew some points where I wanted to have the lights. I then positioned the all-in-one unit: I used glue dots for the three small lights, some scotch tape to fix the wires and double adhesive tape for the battery unit. I then checked if everything was correctly positioned before attaching the panel with foam tape.
Since everything was ok, I removed the mask and I colored the image with the Copics listed below:
- Cat: N9 β N8 β N6 β N5 β N4 β N2 β E41 β E40
- Birds: YR23 – YR31 β Y32 β Y00 β YR27
I also glued down the die cut Hugs word and I layered a piece of vellum behind the speech bubbles. In this way I softened the light and I was able to attach the three hearts in the centre of the bubble.
To complete the card, I stamped the word βPRESSβ included in the PB PRESS STAMP AND DIE BUNDLE in the bottom right corner to let the recipient know what to do and I adhered everything on the larger panel using foam tape. And hereβs the finished result, with the Twinkle Light in action!
I really hope you liked my inspiration and please check the blog because I will be back soon with another interactive lightening card!
Hugs from Italy,
Sara
