Be the Change – 3D Butterfly Card

I’m back with an inspirational card, featuring the 3D Folded Butterfly and Carly Alphabet dies from i-crafter. I love the simple design and the wow factor that the folded butterfly adds. 

I started with another alcohol inked background, on alcohol ink paper, created by my friend Niccole. She used a new set of inks and the alloy additive. Isn’t it gorgeous? She was kind enough to send it to me to play with. I trimmed it down and layered it onto a light green pearl card base.

For the focal point and sentiment, I chose a teal cardstock to cut the 3D Folded Butterfly and words from. Placing the letters on a strip of purple tape made it easy to hold them in place while I added a little ink shading to the edges with my awesome new i-Brush Blending Brushes. I darkened up the edges of the butterfly too, before I folded it up and secured it with a piece of wire. I glued the butterfly body over the wire and adhered everything to the card. A few clear gems finished it up and add a little sparkle. 

I love the contrast of the orange and the teal, and the encouraging message. With the help of the Carly Alphabet, you can change the sentiment to whatever you like best. And don’t forget, the set includes uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and punctuation. How awesome is that? It’s becoming my go-to alphabet set!
