Blow Out the Candle! with Guest Sweta

Hello, crafty friends!

I’m back again as a guest on the PBP blog, and today I’ve got something fun and exciting for you—a simple yet delightful light-up candle card that allows the recipient to blow out the candle light! (Pun intended!) Let’s dive right in.

Here’s how I made the card:

I started by choosing a dark navy-patterned paper for the background and cutting it to slightly smaller than A2 size. Next, I stamped the Trinity Half Pint Jar and used the coordinating stencils to add color to the jar. Once I was happy with the coloring, I used the matching die to cut it out.

I placed the jar over the patterned paper panel and marked where the flame would go. After running the panel through the die-cutting machine, I added vellum (colored yellow with Copic markers) behind the opening to create a glowing flame. This will allow the light to shine through when activated.

Then, I positioned the Candle Light (from PBP) on the reverse side of the panel and taped it in place. On the front, I glued down the jar, added a birthday sentiment, and some twine. I also stamped a “Press Here” mark where the jar aligned with the button that activates the light.

Once everything was glued into place, I added foam squares behind the panel before adhering it to the A2 card base.

Now, for the most fun part—trying out the blow-out candle feature! It’s so fun!!

You absolutely have to try the Candle Light pack (it comes with two lights and batteries) to experience how fun it is to blow out the candle flame, just like a real one! It’s such a neat feature that will surely surprise and delight anyone who receives the card.

I hope this easy tutorial inspires you to make your own light-up cards and bring a little magic to your projects.

Have an amazing day!
