Hello again my crafty friend! I have a great gift idea for you today. It’s perfect for last minute stocking stuffers or for non-candy valentines (boring, I know, but some teachers don’t want a class full of cracked out kids). These are flat enough, that you can include them in a card and easily mail them too. I’ve included a handy video below for those of you who would prefer to watch the process.
I made several sets of bookmarks and planner clips using digi-stamps from Heartcraft Paper. I used a hedgehog, angel, coffee mug, and floral spray for my clips. I printed pairs of the images, one regular, the other a mirror image. This way I would have front and back images. Over the floral spray, I added the text boxes after I had flipped my second image (so both would be legible). I printed my images onto white cardstock. I also created label cards that I could cut out with a stitched rectangle die and printed those on speckled cardstock.
I used Copic markers to color my images and then cut them out with my ScanNCut. I colored in any negative space that wasn’t removed by the ScanNCut with a light grey marker, then I ran a black Sharpie around the edges of all of the cutouts. I also added a few Wink of Stella and gold gel pen details.
To assemble the clips, I sandwiched a jumbo paper clip partway between my mirror images and used a combination of foam tape and PVA glue to adhere them together. Clothes pins helped keep the edges together as the glue dried. I added a layer of Glossy Accents to each side of the clips and around the outside edges to make sure the images were sealed together. Once they were dry, I grouped each clip with a few other paper clips that I decorated with scraps of ribbon and washi tape from my stash.
