CAS Cards with Small Stamps

Hey crafty friend, it’s time for a bewitching new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs, and man, is this a fun one! The theme is Halloween, and the new stamp sets focus on adorable, pin-up style witches. Each set also includes cute scene-builder images too, and today, I want to focus on those. Too often, we forget about the small stamps, but they are great for quick, CAS (clean and simple) cards. Let me show you a few…

For today’s cards, I stamped out small images from Spellcaster Witch, Country Witch, and Cocktail Witch and Copic colored them. I don’t have the coordinating dies yet, so I fussy cut them with my ScanNCut. Next, I used white powder to heat emboss sentiments from the same sets, and Things a Witch Might Say onto banners die cut from green and purple cardstock.

To assemble the cards, I created simple backgrounds by splattering ink and Liquid Pixie Dust onto 3¾” x 5″ panels. (For the cactus scene, I brushed on a simple green ground over the splatters so the images wouldn’t look like they were floating in space.)  I popped the panels onto white card bases with fun foam. Then I glued the small images to the cards, drew in black lines for the dangling spiders, and popped up the sentiments with more foam. A few scattered sequins, and shimmer pen highlights finish the cards off nicely.

I love how fast these come together. If you are like me and stamp out whole sheets of images to color at a time, you may find you have a lot of the smaller scene-builders leftover after you make other cards. This is a great way to use some of them up. If you want a spookier vibe for these cards, you could use black cardstock, instead of white, but make sure to splatter inks or paints that will show up on dark surfaces. And I would outline the cut out images with a black marker, so the borders don’t show.
