As the gift giving season approaches, I’ve got a fun, coffee themed gift card holder. It’s quick too! Gifts like these are great for co-workers, teachers, your postal worker, and any other coffee lover on your list.
For today’s tag, I used the new Caffeinated Giraffe, but you can make them using any of your favorite Caffeinated Critters. (The Reindeer would be fun for Christmas themed tags.)
STEP ONE: PREP CHARACTER
The first thing we want to do is prep the character. I stamped the giraffe, then Copic colored him. Next, I fussy cut him with my ScanNCut, but you can always do that by hand if you prefer. (Lol, I know there are a few of you out there that actually like fussy cutting.)
STEP TWO: PREP TAG
For the tag, I die cut a pair Zip Gift Tags, dropping in the zipper for one. The one with the zipper is the top layer; I stamped PULL HERE on the zipper, and embossed the sentiment and coffee molecule with white powder. Using thin strips, I applied foam tape around the perimeter of the bottom tag. I made sure to leave a gap where the zipper will be, just so it can easily be pulled up, and not caught from the back side by sticky foam. I also made sure to leave a well underneath for the gift card.
Here’s a tip for cutting your foam tape into thin strips, without gumming up your scissors: as you pull it off the roll, apply the sticky side to an old piece of release paper before you cut it. As long as you have release paper on both sides, it will cut nice and clean. (I save release paper from sticker sheets for this.)
STEP THREE: ASSEMBLE TAG
With the parts prepped, it’s simple to pull together. Slip a gift card in between the foam walls, and adhere the top. Pop the giraffe up with more foam tape, and tie on some ribbon in coordinating colors. That’s it, easy peasy!
Now if you want to make up a batch of these tags to have on hand, but don’t have gift cards for them yet, you can leave the release paper on the bottom and right strips of foam. That way the top left side of the tag is adhered, so you can tie on the ribbon, but the bottom right corner isn’t sealed up yet. You can slip a gift card in later, and just seal it up the rest of the way then.
So what do you think of this idea? Isn’t the tag fun with a gift card hidden inside? Do you have any coffee lovers on your list this year? I’d love to know what caffeinated critters you’d make this tag with. Let me know in the comments, or over on social media! And if you give it a try, tag me. I’d love to see!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you like this idea, don’t forget to Pin it, or bookmark it, so you can find it again later. Click here if you are looking for the winner of our Instagram Collab Hop with Ink on 3! I’ll be back tomorrow with another fun card; see you then!

Soooo cute. I’ve been so budget-good, staying off purchasing new dies, stamps and stencils for a couple months and then comes more TRHD caffeinated animals. Guess we know THAT collection will always be a budget-buster! π Thanks for yet another idea for using them.
