Get Whale Soon Peek-A-Boo Card

Hello my crafty friends. I’m excited to be guest designing for Brutus Monroe again this month! (Insert happy dance 🙂 ) I decided to play with their Fish Bowl stamp set and create a punny, interactive card. I used a double wiper mechanism to allow the whale to peek through the seaweed that he’s hiding behind, and pop-up! You can see him in action and watch how I made the card here…

You can also find me on the Brutus Monroe blog today too! Feel free to hop on over and let them know if you like this card 😉 …

As I mentioned in the video, this card was inspired by one from Ali Farmer. You can see that card here. She modified the Lawn Fawn Let’s Toast Pull-Tab Die, but I don’t have that one, so I just made my own slider tab. If you have the die set, it’ll save you a couple of steps, but it’s simple enough to recreate the mechanism with paper strips. I’ve got links below to the products I used.

In the video, I also mentioned my embossing powder storage trick. That’s a tip I picked up from Mary Polanco. I also got the idea to tape my craft mat to a clipboard from her. It makes it really easy to use and clean up that way. Mary is full of great ideas; check out her channel!

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below and I’ll try to answer them for you. Thanks again for swinging by today; I’ll be back soon with another fun interactive card!

* In the video I misspoke and referred to seaweed dies from Art Impressions; I meant to say Sea Plants from Impression Obsession. I apologize for any confusion.
