As summer winds down, it’s time to start thinking of all the fun we’ll have this fall! Today, I’m participating in the My Favorite Fall Colors Hop and I’m sharing this adorable autumn themed card, with a light-up campfire and a way to make your card smell like toasted marshmallows! I used the awesome new Camping set from Kindred Stamps. It’s a special stamp set that was designed with several images you can light up with my Power Pack Kit. In fact, you can buy them as a combo. How convenient is that?! 🙂
The next stop in the hop is Gale Thompson’s channel! Be sure to check out her adorable card!
I love how shiny the campfire is with the Aqua Shimmer highlights. If you’re overwhelmed with the idea of making a light-up card, you can always skip it and just add lots of glitter 😉 One thing I hope you won’t skip is the sweetened condensed milk trick. Man, if we had smell-o-vision, you’d be drooling. This card smells fantastic. Like I mentioned in the video though, the smell won’t last forever. You can help keep it contained longer by storing the card in it’s envelope until you give it away. And be sure to give it away quickly. You’re probably wondering what to do with the extra milk though, right? Don’t worry, I’ve got directions for one of my favorite desserts down below.

Now what to do with the rest of the can of sweetened condensed milk, right? Just whip up a Fudge Macaroon Pie! It’s easy and quite delicious. My mom used to make them and they’d disappear lickety-split! To make one, mix up a batch of your favorite brownie mix and pour it into a large pie plate (I prefer the Baker’s One Bowl Brownies for this). Mix the rest of the can of sweetened condensed milk with a 14 oz. bag of shredded coconut and spoon it on top of the brownie mix. Bake as directed for the brownies, but keep an eye on it. If the coconut layer starts getting too dark, cover it with foil as it continues to bake. You may need to extend the baking time if you are using a smaller pie plate, because the center will be so dense that it’ll need more time to cook thoroughly.
Don’t forget, the next stop in the My Favorite Fall Colors Hop is on Gale Thompson’s channel! I hope you’ll hop along with us to see all of the adorable autumn inspired projects the group is sharing.
Thanks for stopping by today; I’ll be back soon with another fun, interactive card…
