CARD INSTRUCTIONS:

I started by die-cutting all the elements for my card, cutting each piece twice to layer them for added dimension and visual interest. For the haunted house, I backed the windows with vellum that I had tinted using a blend of orange and yellow alcohol markers, giving the lights a warm, eerie glow once activated. After assembling the first layer, I carefully positioned the EZ-Lights to illuminate the center of the house, securing the wires with tape. Then, I added foam tape on top of the tape for depth and adhered the second house layer behind it, creating a neat little sandwich that hides the lighting components while keeping the glow front and center.

For the trees and gate, I followed the same layering technique, cutting each die twice and stacking them to build depth. This time, I aimed to create a subtle shadow effect, as if the scene were illuminated by the moonlight.

The background panel is from a very old paper pad in my stash, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. It instantly set the scene and added just the right touch of spooky charm I was aiming for.

To finish the card, I added a generous layer of glitter pen over the haunted house and bats, giving them a magical shimmer. The sparkle catches the light beautifully, but unfortunately, it’s one of those details that photos just can’t do justice!

If you haven’t tried EZ-Lights yet, they’re a game-changer for adding a little magic to your handmade projects. They’re wonderfully simple to use and create such a captivating glow. I hope this card sparks your imagination and inspires you to light up your next creation!
