Hello my crafty friend! I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday, if you celebrate. For the first time in over a year, we had an almost “normal” holiday gathering. Usually, we host dinner for 15-20 people, but since Covid, that came to a screeching halt. Now that my dad has been inoculated, and I have too, we felt it was safe to invite him for dinner. And since it’s been so long since I’ve hosted a holiday meal, I had to decorate. Let me show you the fun Easter treats I put at each place setting…

I filled these cuties with Tropical flavored Skittles candy, to match the colors of cardstock I used. (And because my husband and kids love Skittles.) You could substitute jelly beans, or any candy you’d like, even a Cadbury Egg, or plastic one (they fit perfectly inside the treat holders).
To make the treat holders, I used i-crafter’s Halloween Treat Lantern die set, with the Easter Add-on. They are so simple to assemble, and the dies come with all of the decorative parts you need. I cut the lanterns from colored cardstock, then cut the rabbit and decorative elements from white cardstock. Using a piece of masking tape to hold the small parts in place, I added color with Copic markers. A jewel picker helped to quickly glue the pieces to the lanterns before assembling. Clear cellophane bags, filled with candy fit inside. I just love them, and so did everyone else at dinner. (The Easter bunny snuck them onto the table when nobody was looking.)
Since my son has moved about 3000 miles away, he wasn’t able to come home for dinner, but I couldn’t leave him out. I created a candy-filled card to match. Instead of cutting the Easter Add-on from the center of a lantern, I cut it from the center of a Zip Gift Tag. (Cut one solid tag, and one window tag, add acetate behind the window, then pop up the sides with two layers of double thick foam tape before filling it with candy and sealing it.) The tag is so large, there was no need to create a fancy background; I just layered coordinating pattern paper onto the card base before gluing the tag to it. The zipper at the bottom of the tag allows him to open the tag and get to the candy. This was much easier to mail than a treat lantern.

As a rabbit mom, I couldn’t let the opportunity to share bunny pics pass…
Ash, Cinnabun, Remington, and I hope you had a very Hoppy Easter! Thanks so much for stopping by today. I’ll be back soon with more fun cards to share.
