Kidding Around with the Caffeinated Goat and a Trick for Highlighting Eyes

When I saw the new Caffeinated Goat from The Rabbit Hole Designs, my inner Capricorn was in love! She speaks to me; she seems so sassy (or he, either way 😉 ). I especially love the furry cuffs on the robe. You could treat them like grass or even flames!  I couldn’t wait to ink her up and Copic color her. Since blue seems to be my favorite color right now, she’s wearing a blue robe. (Don’t worry, only my markers are blue, not me.)

Once I had my goat colored, I cut her out with the ScanNCut and added some shiny details. I brushed her eyelid and coffee mug with an Aqua Shimmer Pen. Then, I added a healthy coat of Diamond Glaze to her eyeball and over the top of the mug. I use this same trick with all of the Caffeinated Critters. It’s a fun way to add extra pizzazz to them.

While the Diamond Glaze was drying, I stamped the caffeine molecule from the set in a rainbow of colors onto a white card base. Then, I closed my ink pads and squeezed them so ink would transfer to the lids. I thinned the ink on the lids down, and used a paintbrush to splatter them over my stamping. A few spritzes of Glimmer Mist finished the background. Instead of creating the background on a separate A2 panel, I went for it directly on my card base because it was a nice stiff cardstock and I wasn’t doing anything too crazy. If you only have lightweight cardstock, you can create a decorative panel and adhere it to a card base.

To assemble the card, I embossed my sentiment on a die cut coffee mug, then popped it up with foam tape. The goat is adhered with a double layer of foam tape so she sticks up a little higher than the big mug. I scattered a few sequins on top and coated them with Diamond Glaze too so they would have the same shiny finish as the eye and red mug.

I like that the background for this card has lots of color, but also offers a lot of bright white space too. The goat and sentiment really pop! Are you ready to see what the rest of the team made with the Caffeinated Goat? Hop along with us and see!
