CARD INSTRUCTIONS:

I began by die-cutting all the elements for my card, then added texture by embossing the background panel with the Cracked A5 folder and the smaller panel with the Foliage A5 folder. For the leaves, I used white cardstock and gave them a rich, shimmering finish by spraying a mix of Distress Mica Stains—Harvest Moon, Iron Gate, Fortune Teller, Wicked Elixir, Burning Ember, and Decayed. After letting them dry overnight, I arranged the vibrant, metallic leaves across the card for a dramatic and dimensional effect.

Next, I positioned the EZ-Lights behind the Jack-o’-Lantern face. As shown in the photo below, I secured the wires around the eyes, nose, and mouth using double-sided tape, then added foam tape on top to create dimension. Leaving space between the layers helps diffuse the light more evenly, giving the glow a softer effect. To hide the wiring, I trimmed a small section from the bottom of the pumpkin and tucked the wires behind it. I also cut a circular piece of paper, previously embossed with the Cracked A5 folder and stained with Distress Oxide in Brushed Corduroy, to thread the wires through and neatly hide the battery pack.

Before adhering everything in place, I arranged the leaves around the focal image, tucking in die-cut foliage to fill any gaps and add depth and visual interest. I then stamped the word “push” directly onto one of the leaves positioned above the hidden battery pack.

To complete the card, I added the “Trick-or-Treat” sentiment, die-cut from purple and mustard cardstock. I layered the pieces slightly offset to create a bold, dimensional effect that makes the words stand out.

If you haven’t played with EZ-Lights yet, you’re in for a treat. They’re easy to use and bring a magical glow to any handmade project. I hope this card lights a spark of inspiration for your own illuminating creations!
