Retro Rewind: A Light-Up Card with a Vintage Vibe

Hello, crafters, Sara Lihz here from @SassysLLC on YouTube! Today, I’m sharing a fun and nostalgic light-up card with the Stay Tuned television die from Trinity Stamps the always easy-to-use EZ Lights from Pear Blossom Press. They’re a favorite of mine!

I challenged myself to make a bunch of masculine cards for the month of February, so I knew I wanted to make a custom sentiment to go inside the television. I adore teasing all my favorite fellas and they would expect nothing less. I’ve made the sentiment available as a free download and linked it with the supplies.

Because this card is quite simple, I decided to spice it up by putting it together two ways, once as a mini card and once in a living room scene. The television is assembled the same way for both options and I left a hatch in the back so the battery could be easily replaced. Then I used removable adhesive tape runner to add it to either the mini card or the A2 scene card.

To create the living room scene I combined two background dies, the Mosaic Background die from Scrapbook.com and the Woodgrain Texture Die from Hero Arts (a woodgrain stamp or pattern paper would also work great here. I just love how the pattern from the Mosaic die looks SO much like wallpaper. I’m about to make a dozen scene cards with this layout.

I hope this tutorial inspires you to create your own unique light-up cards. Remember to have fun and let your creativity shine! Happy crafting!
