You Feel Like Home – Front Porch Card

Hello again my crafty friend, it’s time for another Lynda Kanase design team inspiration hop! Today, we are sharing some ideas for the Window Box Impresslits. It’s a combination die and embossing folder in one and I’ve got a fun way to use the window to create a front porch scene. I’ve been trying to figure out how to build a scene like this for a while. Pinterest has been flooding my feed with adorable decorating ideas, and even though I probably won’t decorate my actual front porch, I’ve been inspired to make cards! Here is the video showing you how to create this sweet summer porch

As promised in the video, I have links for you to the products I used…

The measurements for the card front are 4¼” x 10½.” Score it at 5½,” and cut/emboss the longer end with the window box impresslit. Line the short end up in the left corner of your embossing pal and score at 1,” 2,” and 3½.” Emboss the short end with the woodgrain folder, then fold at the score lines to create the stairs and door. Add 5/8″ columns on either side of the door and a 1/4″ strip at the top to create the roof line. I added vellum on the back of the doors, but you can substitute acetate, or leave them open.

If you’d like to see the coffee shop card I created using the same Impresslit, you can find it here. And don’t forget to keep hopping for more great ideas!

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be back again soon with another fun card to share!
