Beach Day

Hello crafty friends! It’s time for the new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs and I think you’re going to love this one! There are four new sets in the release; three coordinate nicely together, and the fourth is a beautiful floral set. So if you’re like me, you’re going to need them all! 😉 Today, the design team is focusing on the Beach Day set and I’ve got a pair of fun cards that will make you smile.

First up is this cute little thank you card. I stamped, embossed and colored the little girl with Copic markers. I used my ScanNCut to cut her out, leaving a narrow white border. Next, I pulled out my nesting circle dies and grabbed a pair that looked appropriate for a life preserver. I cut four layers from white cardstock and glued them together, edging the top with a grey marker to give the illusion of dimension. Then I pulled out the next larger, and smaller circle dies and cut out another donut shape from red fun foam. I trimmed four wedges from it and glued them on top of the white piece. To complete the life preserver, I glued white cording around the outside edge, under the red foam. For the sentiment, I stamped and embossed “you’re a lifesaver” onto a grey fishtail banner and nestled it under the die cut thanks that I cut and stacked three times. For a little extra interest, I glued my elements to a 3¾” x 5½” piece of white cardstock. Then I popped that up with fun foam onto an A2 card base with a red scalloped strip underneath.

For the second card, I wanted to make another punny card, so I paired the whales in the Beach Day set with the “whale hello” stamp for my sentiment. I started by stamping the whales and palm trees. Then, just like I did for the first card, I embossed and Copic colored the images before cutting them out with my ScanNCut. Using my nesting circle dies again, I cut out a few brown donut shapes to mimic a porthole. I die cut a yellow circle and several blue wave pieces. I also die cut a blue stitched strip with a straight edge to be the horizon. I glued the scene to the yellow circle and glued the porthole frame pieces on top. I punched tiny holes around the perimeter and set small gold brads in them. Before gluing the porthole to my card base, I used a woodgrain texture plate to emboss the front. I stamped and embossed “whale hello” onto a blue fishtail banner then glued it in place with the die cut word friend under it.

The new Beach Day stamp set is really adorable and has so many fun sentiments to work with. Tomorrow, I’ll be back with another pair of fun cards featuring the new Mermaid Hair and By the Shore stamp sets that coordinate so nicely with this set. Remember, all of the stamps in the new release are available now, so no need to wait to shop!
