Hello my crafty friend! Today Iāve got a fun new light-up card featuring the Caffeinated Dino from The Rabbit Hole Designs! I made it for my husband who roasts his own coffee; and man, is it delicious! But this card has a second reference that he will especially love. When we got married, we ordered a custom wedding band for him that incorporates a ring of dinosaur bone and another ring of meteorite. Iām not going to lie, Iām a little jealous. Itās a cool ring. So how perfect is this card for him? Coffee, dinosaurs, and a meteorite! And to top it all off, the meteorite lights up so it looks like a ball of fire flying across the sky! Heās going to love it! Here it is in actionā¦
So how did I make this card? Well, Iām glad you asked! Iāve got a video for you showing you the whole process rightĀ here. (And remember Iāve been talking about having exciting news to announce this month? Thereās a big spoiler and a sneak peek in the video!!!)
Ā
Wasnāt that easy? Have you made a light-up card before? And now that the catās out of the bag about our new Power Packs, I hope Iāve inspired you to give light-up cards a try! They are in the shop now, but we are officially launching them on Saturday, April 27 and celebrating with a Mega Blog Hop and lots of prizes. Make sure you are signed up for the newsletter so you donāt miss out!

In the video, I promised you links to the other products I used to make this card. I started by stamping and embossing the Caffeinated Dino in my Mini Misti. I added a Push Here stamp, then colored him with Copic Markers and cut him out with my ScanNCut. I ran purple cardstock through my Big Shot to die cut the mountain range, other dinosaurs, and leaves. I ink blended the die cuts and the sky with Distress Oxide inks, using a combination of ink blending tools and Fantastix. I die cut the meteorite from the sky with a leaf from this die set and backed it with heavy vellum. The vellum smoke/flames was cut with a branch in the same set the leaves came from. The lights, and copper tape are included with the Power Pack kits, so I used those to make the circuit. For adhesives, I used a combination of PVA glue in a Fineline bottle, Super Tape, and foam tape. That cool memo tape that I used for masking and to hold the die cut pieces can be found here. I think that covers everything, but if thereās something you want more information on that Iāve missed, let me know in the comments below.
And donāt forget to hop on over to the The Rabbit Hole DesignsĀ to pick up aĀ Caffeinated DinoĀ of your own! While youāre there, check out theĀ Sofishticated set; it has an anglerfish that would be perfect for a light-up card! (You can also find me up on their blog today with the sister article to this post š )
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think of todayās card down below, or find me in theĀ The Rabbit Hole Designsā Facebook fan group; Iām always popping in there. And stay tuned for the Mega Blog Hop! Until next time my friend, stay craftyā¦
