Easy Holly Christmas Tags

Stunning tags for your holiday packages are a snap with i-crafter’s new Folded Holly die set! Not only are they easy, you can whip out a whole batch of these in no time.

For this project, you’ll want to shop your stash for green scrapbook paper that you never got around to using. If you’re like me, you have some paper that seems dated now, and you probably won’t use for anything else. Since it will be cut up and folded, it’s perfect for the holly. It doesn’t need to be printed on both sides either. I was able to die cut six holly shapes from a 12″ x 12″ sheet of paper. (This is a great project to use up scraps too.)

The holly die not only cuts the outline, it also embosses fold lines. Simply fan fold the holly along the lines. Fold the fan in half and glue the long edges together to form the holly leaf. (I sandwiched in a piece of bakers twine in the center, before gluing the edges together.)

To turn the holly leaves into tags, I die cut 3″ circles from light pink cardstock and punched a small hole at the top. threading the twine through the hole, I tied a holly leaf to each circle. Using medium and dark pink scraps, I die cut the berries and glued them to the top of the leaves.

For an extra pop of pink, I die cut the word JOY from the Holiday Words die set out of medium and dark pink, and layered them together, slightly offset. Then, I glued those onto the leaves. That’s it, easy peasy! No stamping, or coloring. And look how pretty they are…

What do you think? I chose pink and green, but you can use a more traditional palette, metallics, or even white on white if you prefer. What colors will you make your tags in? Tag me in the i-crafter Facebook group and let me know!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Remember, if you are near Duluth, Georgia, come on down to the Scrapbook Expo! I’m there now!
