Today I’m sharing a fun and easy interactive project, a record card that actually spins! Using Hero Arts die sets (mixing the Record Collection with the Drop the Needle set), you can create a card that’s both stunning and surprisingly easy to build. The real star of the show is the Pear Blossom Press Holographic Sticker Sheets, which add this gorgeous holographic star shimmer to your record for incredible sparkle and shine.
The mechanics are simpler than you’d think, thanks to the Pear Blossom Press Snap n Spin that holds everything together. I’m using 2mm foam for smooth spinning action, plus a little 3mm foam for the needle arm so it doesn’t have to reach over the record. Just make sure when you are adding phone to the back panel, that you leave plenty of room for the snap and spin to move freely.
For a sentiment, I’ve paired the record with a funny sentiment from the Sassy’s LLC Telephones & Typewriters kit that reads, “Some old things are still cool. Not you, obviously, but we still think you’re great.” It’s quick to assemble once all your pieces are prepped, and watching that record spin is honestly so satisfying.
