Tattoos and Kids?

Okay, okay, I’m just messing around with you now. After all, it’s April Fool’s Day. No kids were actually tattooed for this blog post. But the first thing I thought of when I saw the new stamps from The Rabbit Hole Designs was the set of skin-safe tattoo ink pads and markers I’ve had in my stash since my big kids were little. Stampin’ Up sold them in kits* and my kids spent hours playing with them. I had a lot of fun playing with them too, so I pulled them out and stamped the Dice & Diamond Tattoo on my daughter’s arm. She’s such a good sport, lol. The new stamps are really fun to color, and I have a feeling everyone in my house will have a fake tattoo, or two, before the quarantine is over! 😉

Don’t worry, I made a real card for you today too! The new Affirmation Tattoo set has some lovely images and sentiments. After stamping and coloring them with Copic markers, I trimmed the panel down. A thin foam layer pops the panel up on a red card base. Aqua Shimmer highlights, coated with Diamond Glaze, add extra sparkle. And a few red gems finish the card.

This was such a quick and easy card to make. I’m thinking of going through my stamp sets to see if I have any sentiments that can turn these images into Christmas cards. I think the tattoo style doves would make fun holiday cards for several people on my list. Plus, the word PEACE is already in the Affirmation Tattoo set, so I really just need some connector words. Is April too soon to start making Christmas cards? Maybe just some sets of cards to give as gifts… What will you make with them? Ready for more inspiration? Hop along with us!

*If you can’t find a skin-safe tattoo kit, you can always use this ink pad, and these markers. If you have the pad and markers, but they’re dry like mine were, you can spritz them with a few squirts of Ink Refresher Spray. It’s non-toxic and worked great to revive mine 🙂

Such a good idea. I would have loved to do this when I dressed up as a sailor a couple of year ago (Halloween–I’m not just some weirdo who dresses up each day–ha ha ha ha haaaa). Anyway, I’m going to go back and see which sort of ink you used. So cute.

  2. or you can just use ink irresponsibly on your children because they’re driving you nuts. . . was that out loud?? i think that might have been out loud. . .

  3. Now I need stamp tattoo sleeves!
