Go Bananas Slimline Card

Are you ready for the new Heffy Doodlers Challenge? Since it’s January, and that usually means new year’s resolutions, I thought I’d offer an alternative to the standard “this year I’m going to slim down” one we all make. Let’s trim down our cards instead, with slimline designs! I made a fun Go Bananas birthday card to kick off the new challenge.

For this card, I stamped images from Chimply the Best onto a white panel with Warm Glow ink for no-line coloring. Using Copic markers, I colored the chimps, bananas, and vines with the colors below. (Click on any of the pictures to enlarge them.)

Chimp Bodies – E99, E37, E29, E79

Chimp Faces and Bellies – E51, E21, R20, R46, E37

Vines, Leaves, and Banana Tops – YG03, YG17, YG67 (I added extra leaves.)

Bananas – E40, Y13, Y15, Y17

Green Dots – YG03

To pull the card together, I stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner with Warm Glow ink. Then I trimmed the panel down with a stitched rectangle slimline die and layered it on top of a yellow scalloped die cut layer. I glued the panels onto a kraft card base measuring 8½” x 3½.” A few gold gems add sparkle and finish the card. Isn’t it fun?

I hope I’ve inspired you to play along! Create a slimline card using Heffy Doodle products (mostly) and enter to win a £35 gift card! The challenge starts now in the Heffy Doodlers Facebook Group, and runs through January 31st, 2021. Full details are posted in the challenge album, as well as on the Heffy Doodle Blog.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back soon with another fun project to share.
