Hi crafty friends! It’s Sara (@le_cosebelle_di_sara on Instagram) here again as a guest designer this month for Pear Blossom Press products. Today I have a second project to show you featuring the Pear Blossom Press lights and I can confirm it was an easy and funny thing to do! So, let’s move into my project.
I started seeing Halloween themed projects on Instagram and I thought it was the perfect moment to start creating something spooky. So I looked into my stash and I found the perfect stamp to use with lights. It is called Pumpkin Charm and it is a rubber stamp from Purple Onion Designs. I also used the two smallest flying characters, “Trouble” (halloween bat) and “Little Boo” (bird with basket) and the Iron Fence on the background.
I firstly stamped the main image on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and the two small characters on another scrap of the same cardstock, I then colored them with the Copics listed below:
– Orange Combo: E08 – YR68 – YR15 – Y38 – YR12 – YR31
– Black-Grey combo: W9 – W8 – W7 – W6 – W5 – W4 – W2 – W1
I then hand cut them all with scissors and I used a precision cutter to cut the holes from the pumpkin. I then moved into the background with the light interactive elements.
I took a piece of 4.5”x6.5” white cardstock and I used the Clearly Besotted “Branch Out Stencil” and I inked the background firstly with Peach Fuzz and Hippo ink pad from Lawn Fawn, then I darkened it with Pumpkin Spice and Black Licorice. I also splattered a bit of Opaque Black Paper Splatter from Picket Fence Studios.
I arranged the big sentiment die where I wanted it and the colored images too, I stamped the Iron Fence on the background and I carefully drew the holes of the pumpkins (eyes, nose and mouth) exactly where I would have put them and I cut them from the inked background. I repeated the same process on a 5”x7” white cardstock in order to sign where I would have put the EZ Lights.
Here you can see how the lights mechanism look on the back panel, which is slightly larger in order to get a 0.5” white frame around. I used glue dots where I had to put lights and a strip of double adhesive tape in the bottom right corner.
I then die cut the Trick or Treat Halloween Word set from Picket Fence Studios and I used a piece of acetate behind since I wanted to create a shaker element (you can see in the third photo that there were sequins). I also stamped a few small bats here and there (they come from the MFT DelightFul Halloween) and I started assembling the card.
I also stamped the smaller sentiment under the pumpkin (it comes from the same MFT stamp set) with orange ink and the “press here” words using the Pear Blossom Press Stamp and die bundle to let the recipient know what to do.
