Lilies and Otters? Yep!

I know, I know. It sounds like a weird combination, right? Don’t worry, I didn’t put them on the same card. But the new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs has so many cute stamps that I couldn’t wait to play with them all! I may have gotten a little carried away, but I had so much fun coloring and I had a lot of ideas for the different images, so I have seven cards to share with you today! (Since this post is part of the release party hop, and I have so many cards, I’m skipping the step-by-step instructions, but I took lots of pictures as I was creating and I’m happy to explain further if you have questions. Just put them in the comments below, or message me.)

First, let’s talk about the gorgeous new Lovely Lilies Stamps and Coordinating Dies, illustrated by the wildly talented Kelly Taylor. I always enjoy watching her videos and have learned so much about coloring from Kelly. When I heard she had illustrated a set of flowers, I knew I’d love them before I ever saw them. Not even slightly disappointed. Man, are they pretty, and so easy to color! We all know Kelly loves a bold black outline, so two of my cards feature black stamped images, colored with Copic and Olo markers. For the third card, I wanted to practice the no-line coloring techniques Karen Hightower taught me. I stamped that image with white ink on kraft cardstock and colored it with pencils. All three cards have white embossed sentiments and a few gems for sparkle. (Don’t forget to use your Embossing Powder Tool for perfect results!) I kept the backgrounds simple so the flowers could really pop. Here’s a closer look at each one (click to enlarge)…

I promised otters too, remember? Also in this release, you’ll see three new stamp sets and a stencil that can all be mixed and matched for great beach and ocean cards. They are so cute! Otterly Adore and Otter Play feature lots of fun otters, Sea-ing is Believing features whimsical underwater critters. The Making Waves Stencil has a different wave edge on each side, and lots of seaweed and kelp for scene building. For my cards, I colored all of the images with Copic and Olo markers and used both large and small blending brushes to ink blend the backgrounds. I brought in a cloud stencil and used the frames and sunburst dies from You’ve Been Framed for some, and I even created a simple box card and tucked in a drink umbrella for one. The shaker card features one of the new A2 Shaker Cover Sheets for a quick and easy interactive card. Which is your favorite?

Here’s a better look at the box card. It folds down to the size of a mini slimline card, so it fits into a #7 coin envelope.
