Hello my crafty friend. Today, I’m sharing a sweet card, featuring the Unbearable Without You Stamp Set from Heffy Doodle, as inspiration for the new Heffy Doodlers Challenge – Critter Craze!
My two current favorite things are no-line coloring and mini-slimlines, so I combined them for this card. To start, I stamped the bear in Warm Glow ink, and Copic colored him. After die cutting the bear with theΒ Coordinating Dies, I also cut out a heart from the same set, and a Curved Banner.
For a clean and simple look, I blended pink ink onto a 2Β½” x 5Β½” panel, as well as the heart and part of the banner. To add more interest to the banner, I blended orange ink onto the other half. Using Versamark ink and white powder, I embossed a sentiment from the Roundabout Sentiments Stamp Set on it.
To pull the card together, I popped the panel up onto a kraft card base, measuring 3ΒΌ” x 6ΒΌ,” with foam tape. More foam tape and glue pop up the bear and banner. A few clay hearts scattered across the card tie the whole thing together. This card fits into a #7 coin envelope. Isn’t it sweet?
I purposely kept the card subtle because I was making it for a friend who recently lost her father to Covid. In an effort to honor her father, she asked her cardmaking friends to create cards featuring bears and post them with the hashtag #bearcardsfordad. I know it is helping her cope with the grief, and I hope my card will brighten her day a little bit.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you are feeling inspired to make a clean and simple card like this, I hope you’ll pull out your Heffy Doodle critter stamps and enter this month’s challenge over on Facebook. All of the details can be found on their blog.Β I’ll be back later this week with another sweet card to share.
