Hello there, Carrie Rhoades here. I am super excited to be sharing a card creation with you today, here on the Pear Blossom Press blog. I am a long time fan and user of the EZ-Lights. I love making interactive cards but was always afraid to make a light up card with the copper tape and all that sciencey stuff. So when I learned about EZ-Lights I was giddy that I did not have to do any electrical engineering to make a light up card! It was the perfect fit for me and my creative brain. Today’s light up creation is my first time using the new One Light. Which has to be these easiest light of all! So, I decided to combine this easiest of all with my favorite card to make, a shaker card.
To see this card come together check out the video below. If you can not see the video on this screen, you can also watch it right here.
Now let’s chat about how this card came together.
This card started with the Floral Mini Slimline backdrop die. This beautiful die is from Trinity Stamps, and I thought it would make a great shaker card. So, I die cut it from some mirror gold card stock and backed it with a window sheet.
I filled my shaker with some Diamond Dust and backed it with some brushed gold paper. With very similar colors of paper for the front and back of the shaker as well as clear shaker bits, the background of the card does not overwhelm the front of the card.
I wanted my fairies to be extra special, so I used some specialty embossing powder from WOW. It’s a trio of embossing powders that come together, the Party Popper collection. I use each of the three powders in this set. What makes them special is that they have white and gold flecks mixed in with the colored embossing powder.
I think little touches like specialty embossing powder, using gold paper, embellishments and a LIGHT UP element are what make a card special. Love is in the details, as I always say.
Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me share my creation with you. Below I have listed and linked all the supplies I used to make today’s card.
