Hello my crafty friend. It’s a good thing you stopped by today; you’re just in time for the new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs! Today, I’m sharing a fun beach scene slimline, featuring the Beachin’ Stamp Set. This stamp is awesome, and HUGE! It’s a 4″ x 8″ set and the main image fills up a slimline perfectly. If you like to color, you are going to love this one.
For my card, I stamped the Beachin’ image with Warm Glow ink, then drew in the horizon. Using Copic markers, I flicked pale blue up from the line to create a soft sky. Below the line, I used a series of BG markers to create the ocean, working from darkest at the top, to pale at the bottom. To create the sand, I left a white gap and used sandy colored E markers to draw in wavy lines. I made sure to use my darker markers to create shadows under the image, and lots of dots to add to the sandy feel. With a white gel pen, I drew little waves in the water, then quickly smudged them with my finger before the ink dried. That creates the cresting waves and adds movement to the ocean. (You can see step-by-step instructions for a similar Copic beach scene on this card.)
Next, I colored the image. I try to work from the background forward when coloring. That way, if there are any overlapping lines, the dominant ones will be on the images in the foreground (usually the focal point). I love coloring images stamped in Warm Glow ink, it gives you a beautiful no-line coloring effect, and the ink is actually dark enough to see when coloring. After I colored the image, I added a few more white gel pen highlights.
To pull the card together, I stamped a sentiment from the same Beachin’ Set up in the sky with Warm Glow ink. I trimmed the panel with a scalloped slimline die, then mounted it to a 3½” x 8½” kraft card base with foam tape. A few gold gems add more dimension and some shimmer. This card fits into a #10 business envelope.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I’ve inspired you to give a beach scene card a try. If you do, please tag me on social media so I can see! I’ll be back tomorrow with another fun set of slimline cards to share. And on Wednesday, I’ll be back with a different way to create a beach scene. See you then!

Your coloring is stunning! I think this is my favorite stamp in the release, but it’s hard to choose!
