Sporty Birthday Card

Hello my crafty friend! Looking for card ideas with a sporty, masculine feel? Then you’ll want to check out the new slimline card I made, featuring dies from i-crafter

My son’s birthday is later this month. He played a little football in high school, and the Packers are his favorite team. Currently, he lives in Florida, but I’m hoping he’ll move back to California soon. With all this in mind, I set out to make a card for him. I hunted through my stash and pulled out several die sets…

Carly Alphabet Die Set

I love a card with lots of layers. And I really enjoy coloring die cuts. So for this card, I cut out each piece several times, all from white cardstock (except the gold glitter sentiment), and stacked them to create chipboard-like elements. I colored them with Copic markers. Using the Carly Alphabet dies, I was able to customize the trophy and pennant. This alphabet set is awesome because it includes upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and punctuation!

With my elements ready to go, the card was easy to pull together. I trimmed a vellum panel to 3″ x 7″ and glued the die cut elements to it. To attach the vellum to a slimline woodgrain card base, I only applied glue behind the die cut pieces. That way, the glue doesn’t show. A few scattered gold star sequins finish the card.

What do you think? Isn’t it fun? Masculine cards can be challenging, but the dies I used today really help! Do you have any sports fans that would like a card like this? I’d love to see your version! If you give it a try, tag me on social media, or post it in the i-crafter fan group

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be back soon with another fun card to share.
