Hello my crafty friends, Candice with you today! I’m so excited to be Guest Designing with Pear Blossom Press, using their amazing EZ-Lights! I used the awesome set that has one button and three lights to use on one card! I tried my had with them on a box card and it works amazing! The depth gives space for the lights to really shine!
I used these products to create my light up box card:
- Pear Blossom Press EZ-Light 5 pack
- TLC Designs Action Stamps (PUSH)
- MFT Balloon Besties stamps & dies
- MFT City Block Background stamp
- MFT Outside the Box dies
- MFT Outside the Box Clouds dies
- Sunny Studio Stitched Circle Large dies
I first created the box base out of thick white cardstock. I then heat embossed the city block background in yellow and used the coordinating accent dies to cut them out and added a thin strip of blue before adhering to the sides and back of the card base.
To finish the card base, I die cut 3 sets of the cloud inserts from the same thick white cardstock and glued them into the box. Now onto the fun!
I stamped the 3 balloon besties and some extra balloons, colored them with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I punched a hole in 3 of the balloons where the lights are going to shine through.
To put the guts of the lights together, I added the battery to the mechanism and used strong double sided adhesive to adhere to the back insert and used foam tape to pop it off the card base to give it room. It was very easy to thread the 3 separate extensions of lights to go through each cloud and then used the same strong double sided adhesive to add behind the 3 images. Look how nice and thin and small these are to tuck behind images! So many versatile ways to use these!
I finished by anchoring the images to the card by using foam tape or strips of cardstock to show them flying with the balloons! The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of white cardstock and backed with the blue cardstock to help it pop!
I added the stitched circle with the PUSH over the button to turn the lights on so the lucky person knows how to light these cuties up!
I want to thank you for visiting with me today and I hope you give a light up box card a try, way easier than I thought and with a super big wow factor!
