A & B – I stamped the Sketched Nativity image on to light blue cardstock using both Cloud 9 Solid Black for the first stamping and Cloud 9 Silver Shine Metalic ink over the top for a second stamping. I stamped a second Nativity image onto a scrap piece of cardstock (green) to use as a template later on. I colored the light blue adult figures with OLO markers in B0.3, B4.3. B0.5,B0.7 (leaving no shading around the baby’s head to create a halo). I colored the baby’s swadling with OLO Markers using V2.3, V2.4, V2.6
C & D – I die cut both images using the coordinating Sketchy Nativity dies. I marked the halo on the green tempate and fussy cut it out
E & F – I turned over the blue cardstock and placed matched the backside of the green template to the back side to trace the halo opening with an eraseable pencil. I used a Mono Sand eraser to gently remove a layer of paper in the halo area. This thins out the paper allowing the One Light to shine throught the halo shape erased on the blue cardstock
G – I die cut a the front and a back nativity out of Metalic Silver Cardstock focusing on the image of mom and baby. We will use the mirrored image mother and baby die cut (reverse of the blue die cut nativity). Using the green template, I traced out the halo opening and fussy cut it from the silver die cut. I lined it up the silver die cut mirrored image and glued it to the back of the colored blue cardstock image lining up the halo opening with the erased halo opening
H – I treated the the Warp Speed hot foil plate with Ink Off stamp cleaner and whiped off the excess. I positioned the Warp Speed plate on the BetterPress and inked it with Silver Metalic Ink. I attached a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ navy cardstock to the BetterPress Platen top and run it through the die cutting machine to letter press the plate. I cleaned and the plate, slightly moved the plate a tad left, and inked with Midnight Sky interference ink. I ran it through the die cutting machine to create the starburst image.
I & J – I held the Nativity image up to thelight to see how the erased halo looks with light shining through. I used the 6th smalled Oval nesting die to cut an oval opening in the middle of the Navy starburst. The Nativity image is glued over the oval opening making sure the erased halo is in the oval opening.
K & L – Using the nativity template I traced the oval opening on the Powder Blue Shimmer Vellum and glued it to the back of the oval window opening.
I positioned the light of the One Light to Shine directly at the top of the baby’s head, angling the onelight button off to the left of the mom’s shoulder. I stamped the Push stamp from the PB Press Stamp and die set over mom’s shoulder and traced it with a #05 white gel pen.
I used a small piece of double sided adhesive foam tape to secure the One Light in place and framed out the back of the card front with the World’s Best Foam Tape as shown above. I added a scrap of the Mirror Silver cardstock to cover the opening with the One Light and vellum window. This will help reflect and disperse the light evenly.
M & N – You can see how the onelight light up the halo and gives off a glow around the baby.
O – I stamped the Elegant Christmas Sentiment Adore Him with navy ink on the light blue cardstock and die cut them out with the coordinating dies. They are glued into place with Bearly arts Craft Glue. The card front is attached to a piece of 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ white gliterstock and the finished card front is attached to an A2 navy card base completing the card.
