1 Die Set 4 Ways

Helly crafty friend. If you came here from Kari VanNoy’s blog, you’re in the right spot! Welcome to the Heffy Friends Inspiration Blog Hop! In addition to all of the cool cards you’ll see today, you also have the chance to win a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store! (Details below.)I don’t know about you, but I love stretching my supplies, and finding additional ways to use what I’ve got. When I first got the new Hot Air Balloon Dies, I couldn’t wait to piece one together. But as I looked at the dies, I started seeing other things I could create with them too. Can you believe I turned the balloon into a puppy, a monster, and even a lightbulb that really lights up? After you see what I did, I wonder what different images you’ll see!

I know there are quite a few stops in the hop today, and I don’t want you to miss any, so I’ll just show you how I laid out the dies for each card, and a few of the steps, where necessary to show you how I made each card. You’ll notice I brought in a few additional supplies for each card, to coordinate. (Click on any of the pictures to make them larger.)

HOT AIR BALLOON

The original way to use the Hot Air Balloon Dies, is of course, to create a hot air balloon. I did that first, tucking a sweet little raccoon in, and adding a birthday sentiment banner. If you do nothing else with this set, the intended use is awesome!

PUPPY

As I moved the dies around, I saw a puppy’s nose and mouth. After that, I played with the dies until I had the rest of a dog…

MONSTER

As I was playing with the dies and discovering new shapes, I mentioned it to the design team, and Lesley told me that her daughter, Piper, saw a monster head. You know I had to look for one myself, and this is what I saw. The pennant banner teeth crack me up! Wouldn’t it make an offbeat Halloween card?

LIGHTBULB

And last, but not least, the lightbulb. This is actually the vision that set the rest in motion. Lol, I might just be wired to see things I can light up with my EZ-Lights. This one was too cute not to add lights to though. And I turned it into a shaker for good measure! If you want to give this one a go, good news – Heffy Doodle carries EZ-Lights in their shop, so you can order them along with your Hot Air Balloon Dies! Here’s a look at how this card came together…
