The first part of creating this card is using the Tulips & Daffodils press plate in the Betterpress system to Heat emboss the image on Hammermill cardstock with Black embossing powder. The images is coloured using the coordinating Tulips and Daffodils layering stencil set with Distress inks. The Bees are created using the Lavender Fields Hexagons die set. To give the bees extra texture, black velvet cardstock is used for their bodies and vellum is used for the wings. A scrap of yellow cardstock is used for the underside pieces on the bees bodies. The image piece is trimmed down to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and the Spinner channel is cut from the Floral background using one of the dies from the What a Ride die set before attaching the Bee using a Spin ‘n Spin and Sticky spot. A black mat is trimmed to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and attached to a white A2 card base. The image piece is layed on the mat (but not attached) and the die cut channel piece is glued to the black mat so that when the image piece is attached it looks complete. Thick foam tape is added on the back leaving plenty of room for the spinner to move. The Image piece is then added to the card base. A heat embossed sentiment is created usint the Bouquet of Hugs press plate & die set and added to the front of the card as well as two additional bees glued to the floral background image.
