One Set Wonder

I don’t know about you, but I love it when a die set has everything you need to make a whole card. Don’t you? The new Small Die of the Month set from Spellbinders fits the bill! In addition to tons of mix and match sentiments, and coordinating shadow dies, the set includes several flowers and leaves. I used them not only for the 3D elements, but also to create a stencil for the background. Awesome, right? Plus, it’s a quick and easy card to recreate!

How To

If you’d like to create a card like this, start by die cutting both the large and small flower from scraps of cardstock or vellum. I suggest cutting them from the center of 2″-3″ scraps so you have plenty of border all around. Use these to stencil ink across the right corner of a card front panel (mine is a mini-slimline, cut to 2⅞” x 5⅞”). Then splatter concentrated ink across the panel as well.

Next, die cut four layers of the sentiment words from colored cardstock, and the coordinating shadows once from vellum. Cut several flowers and leaves as well. Stack three layers of the words on top of the vellum, and the last layer underneath. Glue the sentiment and florals to the panel, then mount it to a card base with foam tape. (My card base measures 3¼” x 6¼.”) A few gems add sparkle and finish the card.

Change it up

I chose a monochromatic color scheme in purple for my birthday card, but you can obviously change it up to any color you like. There are tons of sentiment options in the Small Die of the Month, so you can pick the perfect one for your card. And don’t think you have to make mini-slimlines; you can apply this design to any size card you like.
