Hey crafty friend, thanks for stopping by for our August Power Pack Hop. This month, I’ve rounded up seven of our favorite designers and they’ve made some really fantastic light-up cards! Plus, I made one for you too, so I hope you’re ready for some bright ideas. And no good hop would be complete without prizes, right? Three Power Pack Kits will be awarded to winners, chosen at random, from comments left on participating blogs and videos, so be sure to hop along with us!
For my card today, I’ve got a fun light-up reindeer that I’m calling a secret Rudolf. I cut the nose out of beige cardstock and used a red Chibitronics LED underneath, so his nose glows red when you push the button. I think it adds an additional fun surprise to the card. You can watch how I made the card here…
He’s pretty cute, right? And did you notice that there was no coloring, or even any ink blending for this card? It actually came together very quickly and I die cut everything from scraps. I’ll definitely be making a few more of these cards for Christmas this year. In the video I promised links to the products I used; I’ve got them listed below for you…
Stamps, Dies, & Embellishments
Snow Deer Die Set
Cat Die Set
Merry Stamp & Die Set
Snow Background Stamp
Power Pack
Red Chibitronics
Copper Tape
Max Red Gems
If you are new to making light-up cards, don’t worry, our Power Packs make it really simple! I’ve got everything you need to know here. You’ll even find a handy tips & troubleshooting video at the bottom of the page. To make a light-up card, you’ll need three things – a Power Pack, one or more LEDs, and copper tape. Our Power Pack Kit has everything you need to make three cards with white lights. However, we offer the parts separately as well. In the video you saw me use a red Chibitronics LED for the reindeer’s nose. They are available in a variety of colors. For your convenience, we also offer Power Packs separately in single, three, or twenty packs, and copper tape in 65 foot rolls. You can find them all in our shop. What will you light up?
