Hi crafty friends — it’s Dee from @deezinesbyd here, and today I’m sharing a cozy Christmas in July card that brings a whole new level of texture, dimension, and shimmering movement to your holiday cardmaking! This rich seasonal card features a hot-foiled background, an ink-blended Christmas tree, a fireplace stacked with presents and stockings, and a gorgeous surprise: a delicate beaded rainfall curtain right inside the fireplace hearth!
There’s something extra special about a handmade card with tactile, interactive elements — it instantly turns your project into a memorable, keepsake experience that family and friends will treasure.
To create the shimmering hearth effect, I strung delicate seed beads using the NEW Beaded Rainfall Kit to form a beaded curtain feature right behind the golden fireplace frame. This gives a fun fire effect as if embers are rising from the fire! Tucked alongside the hearth is an ink-blended christmas tree filled with depth, paired with a deep teal hot-foiled backdrop that reflects light from every angle. I love how the gold-accented presents, cozy stockings, and “CHRISTMAS WISHES” sentiment come together to frame the sparkling beaded centerpiece. In order to create those gold accents, I pulled out my embossing marker and gold tinsel embossing powder!
I absolutely love how easy it is to incorporate beaded accents into holiday designs. With just a subtle shift in the light, the beads glisten like warm, dancing embers! Interactive details like this elevate your handmade creations from simple greetings to extraordinary works of art.
