Ink! Pink 2020, Guest Blogger Rachel Winn

 Hello Friends!

My name is Rachel Winn, and today I am honored to be guest blogging for today’s Ink! Pink 2020 Cardmakers for a Cause Instagram Hop. I have details on my card here, but be sure to head over to the Pear Blossom Press Instagram post to start the hop! The theme for this hop is pretty simple, PINK, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Pear Blossom Press is one of the amazing Sponsors for this event, and I am proud to be representing them today.

I started with Unity’s Dream of Being Angie Girl and stamped it with Ink On 3’s Blackout Ink. I got comfy on the couch under my heated blanket, with my Pear Blossom Press Collapsible Marker Bags and Kathy Racoosin Clipboard and colored her up with Copic markers.

Next, I decided to put her onto a card, and of course, had to make it light up! I used an EZ-Light on a background of Stampin’ Up Very Vanilla cardstock, layered on top of dark pink SU cardstock, which I later trimmed down to just past the edges of the Gina Marie die. I used washi tape to hold down the wires on my EZ-Light, and Glue dots to secure my lights, and the battery pack.

My card front was built by die cutting a few hearts out of the same dark pink, using The Stamp Doctor Heart Medley Dies & LP Heart Dies. I then layered some shiny, iridescent origami paper under the dark pink cardstock, and added a layer of vellum to make it less see through. I attached this over the top of my lights, with Double Thick Foam Tape.

I just had to share these two photos that show different angles of light that really illuminate how beautiful the origami paper is in those hearts.

I added my colored up Angie Girl to the center of my panel, barely covering the lights on each, giving off a soft glow. I stamped “Push Here” from Heffy Doodle’s Interactively Yours stamp set on to a heart cut out of Very Vanilla cardstock and added a few tiny hearts too.

I finished the card off with the sentiment “Be strong & courageous” from Unity’s Dream of Being Angie Girl stamped onto the same dark pink cardstock and layered over Very Vanilla cardstock. I cut this out with SU Layering Oval die cuts.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my card. You can find more from me on my blog, my Instagram, or on my Facebook page. Be sure you head over to the Pear Blossom Press Instagram page to join the hop and get entered into the giveaways for some amazing prizes from fantastic sponsors.
