Scrappy Tails and Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop

Welcome to the Scrappy Tails and Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! Today, we’re sharing lots of whimsical cards that will really brighten your day. They feature dreamy new stamps and dies from Scrappy Tails, and with a little help from us at Pear Blossom Press, they all light up!Β  Be sure to hop along with us for lots of inspiration; our designers have come up with some stunning cards.

To help kick the hop off, we are excited to welcome Su-Queen Teo as a guest designer! Let’s take a look at the toad-ally awesome card she made, and she’ll walk you through the process below…

To make this card, I die-cut a scalloped slimline panel in kraft cardstock, followed by a basic slimline panel in Bristol smooth white cardstock. I used Distress Oxide colors – dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, and seedless preserve for the background. I die-cut the mushroom border from the Scrappy Tails Slimline Everyday Borders II and used Distress Oxide colors – mowed lawn, shabby shutters, and lucky clover. I added a shimmer wash on the background and mushroom border panels.

I stamped the mushroom and frog images from the Fairy Botanicals stamp and die set with Copic friendly black ink, die-cut them, and colored them with Copic markers. I glued them to the panel and stamped my sentiment in the middle. I accented the images with a clear shimmer and added white gel pen. I also stamped a “push here” stamp on where I wanted my button to lie. I wanted the mushrooms from the mushroom border to light up, so I glued them down to the panel and using a poke tool, made holes behind the mushrooms. On the back of the panel, I added a vellum piece that was colored in yellow Copic marker. I then added the Pear Blossom EZ-Lights, with the lights behind the mushrooms, and lining up the button with where I stamped “push here.” I adhered the panel to the kraft cardstock with double-thick foam tape before gluing it to a green slimline foldover.Β
